Mapping Conflict from a Gender lens

The project in collaboration with different partners in India and UK aims to conduct an on ground workshop to develop a manual to articulate the stories of contemporary women and marginalized genders through work with refugees and migrants in Kashmir and Afghanistan.

In collaboration with Dolphin International School Pulwama and Tantidhatri festival this project aims to create a Handbook or a toolkit on practices of resilience and protest by women and other marginalized genders in situations of conflict.

This manual is a process based tangible tool facilitator which extends help towards bringing together a community of people to identify and deconstruct conflicts and construct alternatives collectively in the safety of a forum theatre performance and a series of art-based tools to arrive at it. The tools in the manual can also be utilized individually to drive conversations within communities as needed by facilitates working in the realm of conflict transformation. The structure of the manual involves a digital space with a step-wise guide (set of activities using metaphors) in the sequence that leads up to a forum theatre performance. Each explanation of the step shall include photo and video samples of the tool at work and anecdotal notes (video and written) on participant’s and facilitator’s experience of using it in their communities.
